X Marks The Spot: Manila X Festival 2017

An “X” shaped yellow stage, food and drink booths, speakers from left to right, colorful laser lights, great music, models, fashion and a star-packed line up and performances from different artists. This was the scene at Manila X Festival 2017 at the Globe Circuit Event Grounds on May 27th, the 2nd year of Manila X Festival blew the audience away with a jaw-dropping fashion show and exciting performances by different music artist like Bamboo, KZ Tandingan and for the first time, Manila X has invited an international YouTube singing sensation; William Singe.
Fans have been lining up as early as 5pm to witness this phenomenal event and as soon as they all got in the venue, the sky started to get cloudy, and a few minutes later, it started to rain, but that did not stop the fans from partying all night. Raincoats were ready, umbrellas were being raised and the smiles on their faces were definitely still there. Different booths like San Miguel, Locally, Sperry, Ray-Ban and Bacardi, were available at the said venue for the audience to go around while waiting for the event to start. There were games like beer pong and Sperry’s big dice game where a lot of people enjoyed and so did I. Sperry gave away free items to those who played the dice game by using the spin wheel to reveal the which free item they would receive.
The event started out with Carlo Atendido and A Team’s amazing performance. The audience were amazed by their dance moves and Carlo’s foot-tapping music. Tukar Sinati and stylist Ryuji Shiomitsu (Performax) were up next and people were dancing around while raising their drinks up high. Fashionable clothes by stylists like Zalora, Folded & Hung, BYS, Ica Villanueva (Chalk Magazine), Patty Yap (Candy Magazine) and Perry Tabora (Meg Magazine), were worn by beautiful models and were shown off on the X-shaped runway. These apparels were also worn and modeled on the runway by some actors and actresses like Robi Domingo, Jack Reid, Lauren Reid, Albie Casino, Andrea Brillantes, Enzo Pineda and many more. Saydie, Jess Connelly, Curstissmith and The Juans were praised by the audience for their excellent performance while Ron Poe, Franco and Patty Tiu made the crowd jump up and down to their mind-blowing music.

Halfway to the end of the show, everybody was excited and going bananas over the fact that William Singe will be performing, but before all that, Kiana Valenciano sang her heart out to Alessia Cara’s “Stay” and danced the night away to her own songs; “Does She Know” and “Circles” with A Team. The one and only Bamboo rocked the show with his all-time famous song “Hallelujah” and KZ Tandingan’s epic rap cover of Gloc 9’s “Sumayaw Ka” and reggae version of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You”.

He danced and girls went wild. He sang and they all screamed when he successfully hit those high notes. Hands were in the air and everybody was having the time of their lives. Everyone enjoyed and had an amazing time. The rain did not stop us. It had to do more than that to make us leave that place. It was one of the best concert experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Everything about it was spectacular. The performances, the fashion, the dance numbers. The crazy lights. The mouth-watering food and drinks. I will surely come back next year. You can count on it.
And that ladies and gentlemen, was Manila X Festival 2017.
